Junior Kindergarten: Building on the Foundations
The Junior Kindergarten program at Daisy Kids Preschool builds on the strong foundations that the students have developed in their previous years. The children are taught through a range of activities and experiences specifically designed for their age group. Theme topics such as the five senses, air and sea transportation, and around the world provide a topic base in which children will be taught varying vocabulary and concepts.
In addition to building on previous knowledge, the Junior Kindergarten program also focuses on building critical thinking skills. Students are encouraged to think more deeply about topics and to analyze and interpret information. Through hands-on experiences and play, students learn to solve problems and to think creatively.
Literacy and numeracy are also a key focus in the Junior Kindergarten program. Building on their pre-literacy skills from the previous year, students begin to develop more advanced reading and writing skills. They also continue to develop their numeracy skills, including number sense, counting, measurement, and basic calculations.
Overall, the Junior Kindergarten program at Daisy Kids Preschool provides a comprehensive and well-rounded educational experience for young children. By building on the strong foundations developed in their previous years, students are well-prepared for the next stage of their education.
